This beautiful “Spanish Dagger” is in my backyard. It just started blooming and I am absolutely fascinated by it’s complex ability to stay alive in such strange conditions. This plant can survive up to 5 years without rain and withstand temperatures below -50 degrees. These plants can be found around the world, but the only place that it is found in it’s natural habitat is in the coastal regions between North Carolina and Florida.
